JUNGALTOUR

The Spondylus route runs from northern Ecuador to the north of Peru, 850 kilometers along the Pacific coast and has countless attractions and beaches.

This tour starts and ends in Manta, which is located in the Machalilla National Park. In four days you will visit the center part of the route where you can enjoy from a pleasant tropical climate, scenic views and where you will visit some of the most fantastic beaches.

DAY 1

Manta – Montecristi

Upon our arrival to Manta we will have a breakfast on the Malecon while having a great scenic view over the beach. Later we will visit Montecristi and the Alfaro city, the bird place of Eloy Alfaro, one of Ecuador´s presidents. Nowadays it is renowned for the production of Panama hats. Here we can visit the Alfaro Mausoleum and museum, as well as replicas of the Manteña culture.

After that we will travel to Puerto Lopez. We will visit the ´Piedreros´ point where we can enjoy from the son, sea and beautiful beach.

DAY 2

Isla de la Plata

After breakfast we will embark on a small boat and head towards the Island ´Isla de la Plata´, also better known as the ´Poor Man´s Galapagos´.

After our arrival we will make a guided walk where we can observe Blue Footed Boobies, Masked Boobies, Frigate birds and Albatross among others. After having our box lunch we will have time to snorkel there as well. We will return after that back to Puerto Lopez for our dinner and accommodation.

DAY 3

Los Frailes Beach

We will leave Puerto Lopez in the morning to visit one of the most beautiful beaches of Ecuador ´Los Frailes´ Beach, which is known for its white sand beach, crystal clear water and rock formations. Besides that we will also pay a visit to the natural and scenic beaches of ´Tortuguita´ and ´La Playita´. We will have time here to take a refreshing swim and to walk through the dry forest.

In the afternoon we will visit the ´Piqueros´ beach as well.

DAY 4

Ruinas de Agua Blanca

After having breakfast we will visit the Ruins ´Agua Blanca´, where our guide will teach us about the Manteña culture and architecture. Located inside the ruins is the sulfur lagoon, where we have the great opportunity to enjoy from its excellent healing properties for the skin. We will return to Manta after this visit.
