JUNGALTOUR

In this tour we will visit the main attraction of the Cotopaxi National Park; it’s still active volcano which stands about 5.897 meters above sea level. You have the unique opportunity to hike upon this volcano until a maximum altitude of 5.000 meters, where you hopefully reach one of the glaciers. After this hike the true adventurer can also descend the slopes by mountain bike until reaching the Limpioupungo Lake, where if the weather permits it you will have an incredible view of the surrounding area and volcanoes.

ITINERARY

1- Pick up 07.00 AM from ´La Mariscal´ area

2- Travel to the Cotopaxi National Park

3- Arrive at the parking lot at 4.500 m, explanation about the volcano, animals and plants

4- Start hiking to the Jose Rivas Refuge at 4.800 m. The hike takes about 45-60 minutes

5- After a short rest, hike to the glaciers at 5.000 m.

6- Hike down to the parking lot

7- From the parking lot downhill by mountain bike or by car (please contact us to see which option is available)

8- Visit the Limpiopungo Lake

9- Lunch

10- Return to Quito
